We are moving forward to bigger & better things!!
Sunny View Fire & Rescue
has purchased land across from the current station on N NC 9 Hwy.
We plan on relocating our main station to this larger piece of property.
We have cleared some of the old structures off of this property and have sowed grass to prevent erosion.
The department applied for a Federal Grant from the Department of Homeland Security
as part of the Stimulus package passed in 2009.
This grant was to aid departments in new station construction or in modifying existing stations.
If awarded this grant the fire department will be able to pay all cost of building
a new station including grading, paving and architectural fees.
The department hopes to build a station that will meet current and future growth and operations.
